Fall is a great time to get outdoors, if you're interested in playing a little radio and a festival to boot this might be your event.

Oct 15 1300Z-2000Z & Oct 16 1300Z-2000Z, Stone Mountain, GA 7.265(+/-) 14.265(+/-)

For 50 years, Scotland has been coming to Georgia with the Stone Mountain Highland Games and Scottish Festival! The Atlanta Radio Club, W4DOC, as a past communications volunteer organization, is proud to celebrate this milestone! On Saturday and Sunday, join us as the meadows and meandering tree-lined paths of Stone Mountain Park are transformed for the weekend into the impressive mix of sights and sounds of a Scottish Highland Games presented in a uniquely southern style. One of the premier Scottish festival in the US, Stone Mountain will be featuring colorful pipe bands, Scottish Athletics, Piping and Drumming competitions, Highland dancers competing before judges of worldwide renown, Country Dancing, Scottish Harping and Fiddling.

A commemorative QSL card will be available for those who make a contact with the station. QSL send SASE to Atlanta Radio Club c/o: John Talipsky N3ACK, 385 Madison Chase Dr, Lawrenceville, GA 30045.

This is a ticketed event which will be covered by your participation. However, this does not include a Gate Pass to the park. Stone Mountain Park requires a $20 per vehicle entrance fee. Annual Passes are available for $40 and are good for1 year from purchase. If I can acquire a few Day Gate passes I will make them available to anyone who might need one.
