- ARC Special Event Station Activity
The popular Railroad Rendezvous event sponsored by the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History on Saturday, July 20 in Kennesaw.
The Atlanta Radio Club W4DOC hosted a Special Event Station and small exhibit/demo
on Radio and Telegraphy.

on Radio and Telegraphy.
A variety of activities celebrating the railroad and all things transportation took place throughout the day. Activities included an antique car display, blacksmithing demonstration, radio and telegraph demonstrations, a remote-controlled airplane with interactive simulator and an interactive model train display. There was also a children’s area highlighting jobs people performed for the railroad, including an interactive typewriter display.
Railroad Rendezvous also offered the rare opportunity to step aboard the General locomotive, made famous during the Civil War’s Great Locomotive Chase of 1862, and tour the cab of the historic steam locomotive.

All activities excluding the “Board the General Experience” were included with regular admission; $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for children to the General Public attending the event.
