About the Southern Museum: As a prestigious Smithsonian Affiliations member, the Southern Museum is an inclusive institution devoted to history and education. The home of the General locomotive made famous during the Great Locomotive Chase of 1862, the Museum provides a quality experience that fosters conversation about the strategic and economic use of railroads during and after the Civil War. The Southern Museum’s educational programs reinforce classroom learning by connecting historical information with actual artifacts, while the Jolley Education Center offers numerous hands-on and interactive exhibits for children of all ages. www.southernmuseum.org
Come out and help us make this a success! If you would like to volunteer, especially those that have a good hand on CW, please let John N3ACK know you would like to participate. Email him at n3ack@... A head count is needed as lunch will be included. Although a slightly different animal, would love to have a few CW operators in particular on hand during the day since telegraphy was an important part of the history of communications back then on the rails. We'll send you a cool certificate commemorating the event for your participation.
