The following is the announcement for the November Second Sunday event (November 13th) from Bill Perkins, KB4KFT:
This month we are going to meet and discuss setting up a series of CW classes: how to do it, what we need to do, and what would the radio community like to get out of such classes.
Many people now are getting involved in CW. Once it became optional lots of people, after getting licensed, decided they want to start using it, that they were missing something by not using it. Second Sunday has always been about doing things – hands on activity – and this fits that real well.
If you are interested in learning CW, already know CW and want to get better, or are OK with it and like to share what you know, please come to this meeting. This is a planning meeting – input here is important as we will use that to set up the entire program.
The thinking now is the CW classes will be on the fourth Sunday of each month with a way for the group to get together on-line as weekly or more often if needed. This will be an ongoing class with people progressing as far as they want to progress.
If you have a test key/keyer bring it Sunday. If you have any materials you have used in the past to work with CW bring that along too. The more we know upfront the better we can do, right?
Same place: PDK Airport – Dekalb Peachtree Airport Room 227 (top of the stairs near the guard’s office, 2pm eastern whatever-they-call-it-now time).
Come prepared to share your ideas and be part of the solution to the problem of “how do I learn CW?”
The address to PDK is:
